Case Examples

Amoskeag Health, a federally qualified health center located in the largest and most diverse city in New Hampshire, engaged Pear Associates to conduct a strategic planning process for LAUNCH Manchester to create a road map to ensure all children enter school ready to learn and succeed. The resulting strategic plan identifies priority areas with sequenced and actionable approaches to strengthen the community's ability to support young children and their families.
Capital Area Public Health Network, an initiative of Granite United Way, engaged Pear Associates to lead a capacity-building and strategic planning process to build a comprehensive region-wide early childhood system. Pear Associates embarked on a six-month process that included conducting a comprehensive inventory of early childhood and child- and family-serving organizations, facilitating a regional convening of early childhood constituents, and leading the Coalition through a strategic planning process.
English at Large, which serves English language learners in 24 Massachusetts communities in Middlesex County, engaged Pear Associates to facilitate strategic planning to determine the most efficient and effective path forward. Pear Associates met with a Strategic Planning Committee to focus on mission, geographical reach, and strategic partnerships and created a 12-month Action Plan for sustainability.
Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center, a federally qualified health center in Boston, engaged Pear Associates to conduct a strategic planning process to address patients' social determinants of health. Pear Associates used a range of data sources and informational interviews to identify the priority social determinants impacting patients and developed recommendations for how Harvard Street could expand financial resources and engage community partners to address the identified social determinants of health.
New Hampshire Children's Trust, the Governor's appointed child abuse prevention agency and facilitating organization for the statewide network of Family Resource Centers, engaged Pear Associates to facilitate a strategic planning engagement. Pear Associates engaged with interested parties, led a day-long planning retreat, and conducted an environmental scan of other state and national programs to inform the organization's priorities and goals for the future.
New Hampshire Council on Housing Stability, established by Governor Christopher T. Sununu in November 2020 and co-led by the NH Department of Health and Human Services, NH Department of Business and Economic Affairs, and Community Development Finance Authority, brought together diverse perspectives to develop and implement a strategic plan. Pear Associates developed an Initial Report to support the goals of the Council and has provided ongoing support in implementing action steps to end homelessness and create stability for children, adults, families, businesses, and communities.
The City of Manchester Health Department, in partnership with Catholic Medical Center and Elliot Health System, engaged Pear Associates to provide technical assistance in developing the June 2019 Greater Manchester Community Health Assessment. Pear Associates reviewed and compiled various quantitative and qualitative data sources related to social and economic factors, health behaviors, clinical care, environment, and health outcomes, including food access and assets.
YWCA Cambridge, dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all, engaged Pear Associates to facilitate its 2021 strategic planning process. The six-month engagement included input from the entire Board and staff, clients, tenants, and community partners, as well as an environmental scan to add context and substance to the strategic planning process.
