Ruth Zaimes

Senior Consultant/Grant Writing Specialist

Ruth Zaimes has twenty years of experience in nonprofit development, project management and program design. As a grant writing consultant, Ruth prioritizes the importance of understanding each client’s unique story in order to develop proposals that effectively communicate needs, outcomes, and impact. 

Prior to joining Pear Associates, Ruth spent four years at The Community Group (TCG) as Senior Director of Development and Grant Performance. In this role, Ruth provided pre to post award grants management for a range of local, state and federal awards focused on education and related support services. During her tenure, grant revenue at TCG increased by thirty percent and Ruth worked closely with program staff to support data collection and grant reporting. Her prior experience also includes serving as Project Director for New England Arts for Literacy, a federally funded Arts Integration Model Development and Dissemination (AEMDD) program that brought together urban, suburban and rural school districts around the goal of utilizing arts integration to improve student literacy outcomes. Ruth is passionate about the transformative power of education, and has also worked as a course coach for the Harvard Graduate School of Education and as a faculty fellow for the Project Zero Summer Institute.  

Ruth holds a B.A. in History and an M.A. in Regional Economic and Social Development from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. She is also a graduate of the Institute for Nonprofit Management and Leadership at the Boston University School of Management. She lives in Andover, MA with her husband Stephen, their children and two dogs.
